Writing a good paper or essay doesn’t include just writing. It involves analyzing piles of materials and selecting the right topic as well as giving reference to reliable sources. This work is complex, and we have created a unique system that helps examine our writers’ skills.
This course is a survey of Babylonian, Egyptian, Hebrew, Greek, Hispanic, Germanic, Indian, and other mythologies. Through readings of essays and literature, students explore the similarities and differences of folklore and mythology and identify cultural patterns in the literature.
I could go on. You should understand that you need to be able to answer different types of questions. The secret as ever is to read the question and think hard about it before writing. Think about what it is asking you to do. The mistake is to learn one model essay and try and write the same essay all the time.

You should do your best to answer the question as asked. You may get severely penalised if you write too generally and don 8767 t answer the question. The idea is that the questions are designed for anyone to answer and if you can 8767 t you have a language problem. That sounds a little harsh, no? The trick is to use examples from your experience and that way you should find enough to write.
Good question. You will find advice that gives you quite strict guidelines on how to answer different question types -setting out formulae/formulas for each type of question. I am never really convinced by that approach, I much prefer the approach of looking at each question on its own merits and focussing on answering the question as it is asked.
This course is designed to prepare students to read college-level reading materials. Special emphasis will be placed on moving the students from a literal level of comprehension to a critical analysis of texts. Students will be able to integrate specific reading strategies rather than focus on individual skills, and will write responses to texts.

This course will focus on the analysis and interpretation of Chicano and Latino essays, novels, short stories, dramas, and poems written in English translation. Students will explore a wide survey of classic and contemporary Chicano and Latino texts that reflect social and cultural influences, as well as examine the process of assimilation and self-identity of the Chicano and Latino as thematically represented in literature.

This course is an introductory level creative writing course focusing on writing the short story. In addition to outlining and composing well-crafted stories, students will study the techniques of plot, characterization, point of view, conflict, and setting. Students will also learn about peer editing and the workshop model for revising stories.
